It is an update of an earlier version of Mortal Kombat 3. It features a modified gameplay system, additional characters like the favorite Kitana and Scorpion, who were not included in regular arcade Mortal Kombat 3, and some new features.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Sega Genesis
The Sega Genesis version was developed by Avalanche Software and published in June 1996 by Williams Entertainment in North America, and in November the same year by Acclaim Entertainment in Europe.
Because of the console’s computing and memory limitations, the Sega Genesis version had to be optimized. For example the graphics and sound were simplified, Sheeva was removed, or Shao Kahn’s treasure chest was made smaller. Changes were also made to Fatalities, Friendships. Animalities and Mercies were removed.
On the other hand, this version had a few additions compared with the arcade version. For example it received five more stages, Brutalities were added, Rain and Noob Saibot were made playable, as well as Motaro and Shao Kahn. Mileena, Ermac and Classic Sub-Zero did not need codes to be played.
